Biggest Shipyard Equipment gets Coated

For many years Gantry Cranes have been used in the shipbuilding industry. Used to lift very large objects like ship engines, Gantry Cranes face some of the world’s aggressive environments. Yangzhou Fengfan Group, owners of the 600t Goliath Crane required a coating system to protective against such elements.

Goliath is approximately 90 meters high and spans a total 180 meters. For the biggest equipment used in shipyards a system of Interzinc® 42, Intergard® 475HS and Interthane® 990 was supplied by International Protective Coatings.

With a total volume of 70,000 litres the three coat system offered owners a long-term anti-corrosive coating with a high performance topcoat delivering a quality colour finish, limiting the need for future maintenance.
