Quality Finish for Largest Observation Wheel
When the London Eye became a permanent feature of London city’s skyline, International Protective Coatings were called upon to provide a long lasting coating system.
With views across London from its home on the south bank of the River Thames, opposite Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament the London Eye is one of Britain’s most popular tourist attractions. Due to its popularity the initially intended temporary structure remained a part of the London experience.
Originally coated with a system from International Protective Coatings to last the temporary lifetime of the structure, the London Eye now required a long lasting, durable solution. A system of Interseal® 670HS and Intefine® 979 was chosen on the basis of being able to deliver extended corrosion protection and superior aesthetic finish. The polysiloxane properties found in Interfine offers four times the colour and gloss retention to traditional polyurethane meeting the quality finish the London Eye required.
