Vancouver’s ‘Broadway Station’ Gets a Face-Lift

The Vancouver station transports residents throughout the great Vancouver area everyday. Cleaning and recoating the ageing station would be a challenge under any circumstance.  It was decided the redevelopment project in 2004 would not be only be undertaken during operating hours but also had to not interrupt train schedules, or put the public’s health at risk.

The station owners, SkyTrain, consulted International Protective Coatings on systems that would meet their stringent health, safety and environmental requirements. This resulted in the specification of Interseal® 670HS as a primer/intermediate and Interfine® 878, a acrylic polysiloxane finish coat being supplied.

For commercial buildings it is essential coating product meet relevant legislation including VOC regulations without compromising on performance and Interfine 878 addresses this and delivers a more durable standard compared to traditional polyurethane coatings.
