Universal Pipe Coating Solutions

CUI protection & heat-resistant solutions for pipes, vessels, and valves.

The Easy Solution for CUI and High Heat Protection

The Universal Pipe Coating (UPC) range is engineered to simplify coating specifications for process piping and equipment operating between -196°C (-320°F) to 650°C (1202°F). Designed for corrosion under insulation (CUI) and high heat environments, UPC coatings maximize ease of application while delivering exceptional long-term performance.

This approach reduces errors, lowers costs, and ensures superior protection in demanding oil & gas and petrochemical operations. Interbond 2340UPC and Interbond 1202UPC have an enviable track record as cutting-edge technology for CUI and High Heat protection solutions for O&G projects for many years.

Why choose UPC for high heat coatings?

  • Wide Temperature Resistance: Protects assets from cryogenic -196°C (-321°F) up to 650°C (1202°F).
  • Proven CUI Defence: Tested to ISO19277:2018, ISO12944-9 and Norsok M-501:2022 standards for corrosion protection.
  • Simplified Specification: Just two products for multiple operating temperatures.

Find product details and technical performance information in our UPC product brochure.

Technologies for High Heat and CUI operations

Interbond 1202UPC – Extreme Temperature Protection

  • Interbond 1202UPC – is a universal pipe coating designed for external protection of above-ground piping and accessories operating between -196°C (-321°F) and 650°C (1202°F). Ideal for high heat applications in oil & gas and LNG facilities. Selected and used on some of the largest projects and assets in the world.

Interbond 2340UPC – Fast through put

  • Interbond 2340UPC – is an alkylated amine epoxy phenolic. Formulated for fast application (including low temperature), it provides superior crack resistance compared to other epoxy phenolics. This unique chemistry ensures outstanding durability for process piping, valves, and vessels operating between -196°C (-321°F) and 230°C (446°F)

Triple mode action aluminum

The science behind superior protection

The modern high heat coatings from International Paint rely on advanced pigment technology to deliver long-term corrosion protection in extreme environments. Our UPC range incorporates Triple Mode Action Aluminum flake, which provides three critical layers of defence:

  1. Inhibitor Reservoir – Aluminum flakes act as a reservoir for corrosion inhibitors, ensuring sustained protection over time.
  2. Barrier Protection – Creates a dense, impermeable shield that blocks moisture and contaminants from reaching the substrate.
  3. Mechanical Reinforcement – Enhances coating toughness and crack resistance, reducing the risk of failure under thermal cycling and mechanical stress.

This triple-action mechanism is a key reason why UPC coatings performs so well in CUI zones and high-temperature applications, extending asset life and reducing maintenance costs.

Aluminum pigments have been demonstrated to perform for an incredible 20 years in service CUI performance.
